RULES & REGULATIONS OF YOUR SINGAPORE EXPERIENCE CONTEST

NO PURCHASE OR PAYMENT NECESSARY TO ENTER.

1. CONTEST DESCRIPTION

The "Your Singapore Experience" (the "Contest") is designed to give non-Singaporeans/Singapore Permanent Residents residing abroad a chance to win an all-expenses paid (Terms and conditions apply) trip to Singapore to see and experience aspects of Singapore that visitors would normally not have access to, including meetings with noted Singapore-based personalities in specific fields of interest. The Contest begins August 27, 2007 at 12.00am and ends at midnight of December 27, 2007 ("Contest Closing Date") (GMT+8).

2. AGREEMENT

These Rules and Regulations govern the Your Singapore Experience Contest. Before entering the Contest, each Contestant must review, and agree to accept these Contest Rules and Regulations. The act of entering the Contest constitutes acceptance of these Rules and Regulations and the decisions of the Singapore Government c/o the Prime Minister's Office ("the Organiser") and Judges. All decisions of the Contest Judges and Organiser are final.

Each Contestant must own all property rights (including copyrights) to the essays, photograph essays or videos (The "Submission") submitted by him/her, and agrees to transfer legal ownership of The Submission to the Singapore Government, as required under these Rules & Regulations. By entering the Contest, the Contestant is warranting to the Your Singapore Experience Contest 2007 Executive Committee and the Organiser that he/she owns such property rights to The Submission submitted, and has effected such legal transfer of ownership to the Singapore Government.

3. ELIGIBILITY

To be eligible for this Contest, a Contestant must

(i) be above the age of eighteen (18) years of age at the date of entry of submission;
(ii) be residing in a country outside of Singapore; and
(iii) not be a Singapore Citizen or Singapore Permanent Resident

Any Contestant below the age of twenty-one (21) years of age must seek the approval of his/her parent or legal guardian to participate in this Contest and to co-sign all necessary documentation. By entering this Contest, a Contestant below the age of twenty-one (21) years of age warrants to the Organiser that he or she has obtained such approval and in particular, their consent to transfer legal ownership of his or her Submission to the Singapore Government and to indemnify the Singapore Government against any claims or legal action for breach of copyright by third parties in relation to his or her Submission.

Online entries will be deemed to have been submitted by the authorised account holder of the email address submitted at the time of entry. "Authorised Account Holder" is defined as the natural person who is assigned to an email address by an internet access provider, online service provider, or other organisation (such as business, educational institution etc.) that is responsible for assigning email addresses for the domain associated with the submitted email address.

The following persons are not eligible to participate in the Contest:

(i) civil servants working in the Prime Minister's Office and their immediate family members;
(ii) the employees and immediate family members of employees of any entity involved in the production, implementation, administration or fulfilment of the Contest, and
(iii) Judges of the Contest (and members of the Judge's immediate family)

In these Rules, "immediate family" means husband or wife, spouse, mother, father, brothers, sisters, sons and daughters.

The Organiser reserves the right at any time to require proof of identity and/or eligibility to participate in the Contest. Contestants agree to the release of their name, address, and email information to the Organiser for winner notification purposes and for public winner disclosure as required by law, in addition to the disclosure outlined above.

4. HOW TO ENTER

To enter the "Your Singapore Experience Contest", Contestants must complete the official entry form available online at Your-Singapore-experience.sg and answer the Contest questions accordingly, along with their full name, passport number, postal address, telephone number with area code and e-mail address and submit the Contest entry piece online. This is an online Contest and each Contestant should submit only one entry. If an entry is submitted without clearly filling in the designated category and/or online entry form, judges reserve the right to disqualify the entry.

Format of Contest Entries
All entries must be accompanied with a title and a brief description of the entry in English and not exceeding 1,400 characters.

Essays: Entries must be original, in English, unpublished and unproduced, not accepted by any other publisher or producer at the time of submission, with no more than 800 words in the preferred font (Arial) and font size (12 point) with no indentations, bullet points, kerning and/or leading. Entries exceeding the word or page limits will be disqualified and no adaptations are allowed. Submissions can be in any literary style.

Videos: Only original video clips made specifically for this Contest are eligible to win prizes. Accepted videos may be showcased online. Video submissions must not have been posted or screened on another website. Specifications for uploading of video files are as follows:

• No more than 3 minutes in length
• Maximum 10 MB in file size
• 3GP, WMV,MPEG or MOV format
• Recommended frame size: 320 x 240
• Audio must be in English, and clear and understandable when volume is at 50%
• Videos must not contain objectionable, unlawful or offensive content.

Photos: All submission in this format as colour or back and white prints should be at least 1,600 pixels wide for a horizontal image or 1,600 pixels tall for a vertical image. All submissions should contain no more than 10 photos, no larger than 400 KB each. Digital entries may be submitted electronically as JPEG files. Content alteration of digital files is not acceptable; cropping of photos is permitted, tonal or colour corrections are acceptable, including black and white conversion. Composite photographs, multiple exposures and images manipulated electronically or otherwise, will be disqualified.

Copyright
Entries must be original, unpublished, and not previously or currently submitted for consideration in any other contest or promotion. Entries must be conceived and created entirely by the Contestant , and may not be used or submitted to any other entity for concurrent publication or consideration. Any other entry format not stipulated in the Contest is prohibited and will be rejected. By entering this Contest, Contestants assign all rights of ownership of the entry to the Organisers, including copyright, publicity rights, and the rights to reprint and otherwise reproduce the text in promotional, advertising, training, and publicity materials for any purpose, and in any medium.
Copyright laws apply for misuse or misappropriation of protected materials or elements that are not owned by the Contestant and/or which are subject to the rights of third parties and will be subjected to the governing law of the Republic of Singapore.
The Contestant agrees to indemnify and hold harmless the Organiser against any claims or legal action for breach of copyright by third parties in relation to his or her Submission.

Privacy
By entering this Contest, you agree and consent that any information you provide upon entering may be used by Organiser in accordance with its Privacy Policy, available at Your-Singapore-experience.sg

Judging
For the "Your Singapore Experience Contest", a judging panel will select the winners. The judges' decision is final and no other correspondence will be entertained. Winners are scheduled to be notified no later than end-January 2008.

5. PRIZES

Winning entries will win a return Trip Business Class tickets for two (2) to Singapore on Singapore Airlines or tickets of equivalent value. Accommodation will be provided for four (4) nights at a five-star Singapore hotel or of equivalent value, inclusive of airport transfers and daily breakfasts.

Prize Terms & Conditions:

• Winners will be required to provide the necessary documentation to authenticate their identity and eligibility to participate in this Contest.
• Winners will be required to complete, sign and return an indemnity form upon notification
• The Prize winner and his/her travelling companion will be responsible for all expenses not specifically stated as part of the Prize, including but not limited to, service charges or ground transportation from the winner's home to the airport, overnight accommodation prior to or following the travel dates in order to accommodate flight connections, income taxes, insurance, passport and visa costs, gratuities, incidentals and any items of a personal nature
• Cancellation insurance is not part of the Prize, but is recommended
• Prizes are non-transferable and cannot be redeemed for cash or credit, in whole or in part, for any destination
• Winners and their companions must be above 18 years of age as at the date of entry submission. Proof of age is to be submitted upon request
• Winners and companions must travel together on the same flights
• All seats are subject to availability at the time of booking
• All trip and prize details (including, but not limited to hotels, room and/or transportation) will be designated solely by the Organiser, and may be changed without notice at any time based on the Organiser's sole discretion
• Hotel accommodations are subject to availability at the time of booking
• If the prize as described in these Rules and Regulations is not available, the Organiser reserves the right, at their sole discretion, to substitute the prize awarded with a prize of equivalent value for any reason.
  Refusal to accept the prize releases the Organiser of all further obligations or liabilities.

Publicity

Except where prohibited, participation in the Contest constitutes the Contestant's and winner's consent to the Organiser's use of winner's name, likeness, voice, opinions, biographical information, hometown and state for promotional purposes in any media without further payment or consideration. Works entered in this competition may be released for publicity and public relations purpose in connection with this competition.

6. GENERAL RULES

Lost or misdirected Entries
Contest Organisers are not responsible for any entries that are lost, misdirected, incomplete or illegible, or for the inability to process entries, or any errors, damage or negligence that may arise in connection with the Contest, including failed, partial or garbled computer transmissions, or for technical failures of any kind including, but not limited to, malfunctioning of any network, hardware or software, human error, or property damage which may limit a Contestant's ability to participate in the Contest. Proof of sending will not be proof of receipt by the Organiser.

Computer Glitches
The Organiser is not responsible for any on-line or other charges that may be incurred in connection with participating in the Contest. The Organiser is not responsible for the availability or content of any other website to which the "Your Singapore Experience" Website is linked. The Organiser makes no representations or warranties and there are no conditions of any kind, express or implied, statutory or otherwise, with respect to the Website, including without limitation, that the Website will meet Contestant's requirements, always be available, accessible, accurate or secure.

Limitation of Liability
The Organiser will not be liable for any damages of any kind including without limitation direct, indirect, incidental, punitive and consequential damages arising out of or in connection with participation in the Contest, the use of the Website, or downloading any materials in this Contest. Use of any method, mechanism, device, or software affecting the proper functioning of the Contest or the Website is strictly prohibited. The Organiser may, in its sole discretion and without notice, terminate the right of any Contestant in the Contest or user of the Website to participate in the Contest or use the Website, including disqualifying of any individual who tampers with the entry process.

The Organiser shall not be responsible for any injuries, loss or damages of any kind (compensatory, direct, incidental, consequential or otherwise) with respect to, or in any way arising from, this Contest or any use of the prizes awarded, including but not limited to: (i) lost, stolen, not received, destroyed, damaged, misdirected, illegible, incomplete, fraudulent or late entries which will be void and not eligible; (ii) The Organiser, shall assume no liability of any kind whatsoever for any failure of the websites during the Contest period, including any problems or technical malfunction of any computer online systems, servers, access providers, computer equipment, software, failure of any email or entry to be received on account of technical problems or traffic congestion on the Internet or at any website, or any combination thereof including any injury or damage of a Contestant's or any other person's computer related to, or resulting from, downloading any material related to the Contest, all of which may affect a person's ability to participate in the Contest.

The Organiser shall assume no liability of any kind whatsoever in any cases in which their inability to act results from an event or situation unforeseeable or beyond their control, including more particularly a strike, lock-out or any other labour dispute in their place of business or the places of business of the organisations or businesses whose services are used to hold this Contest.

Indemnity
By participating in this Contest, all Contestants (including the prize winners) agree to release and hold harmless the Organiser from any and all liability whatsoever for any injuries, losses or damages of any kind to any person or property arising from or in connection with, either directly or indirectly, (i) the awarding, acceptance, receipt, possession, use and/or misuse of any of the prizes or parts thereof awarded pursuant to the Contest, or (ii) the participation in the Contest or any prize-related activities.

7. AMENDMENTS

At any time during the Contest, the Organiser reserves the right to promulgate any rules, in addition to the rules above, for the proper administration of the Contest. Such rules and regulations, if and when promulgated, shall form part of the rules of the Contest herein.

8. COMMUNICATION

The Organiser shall correspond with each Contestant by way of electronic mail, mobile telephone and home telephone, in the order of precedence, based on the particulars in the entry form submitted by the Contestant. In the event that there is a change in the communication details, the Contestant shall promptly inform the Organiser in writing. The Organiser shall not be held liable for any lost or misplaced communication arising thereon.

9. GOVERNING LAW

For this website, any interpretation of its content, claims or disputes (of whatever nature and not limited to contractual issues) shall governed by the laws of the Republic of Singapore and all Contestants agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Singapore Courts.

CAUTION: ANY ATTEMPT BY A CONTESTANT TO DELIBERATELY DAMAGE ANY WEBSITE OR UNDERMINE THE LEGITIMATE OPERATION OF THE CONTEST IS A VIOLATION OF CRIMINAL AND CIVIL LAWS, AND SHOULD SUCH AN ATTEMPT BE MADE, THE ORGANISER RESERVES THE RIGHT TO SEEK DAMAGES FROM ANY SUCH CONTESTANT TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW.
